Description

Numbers for plastic can be determined by surveying the bottom of the container. Styrofoam is categorized as plastic #6 (polystyrene). Dart Container in Urbana served as the primary vendor for Styrofoam recycling for both campus and the larger Champaign-Urbana community. In September 2023, Dart Container in Urbana officially closed its doors for business. Plastic #1 and #2 bottles and containers are accepted for recycling through the F&S Waste Transfer Station.
