As a great public university system, we are accountable to many different individuals and communities – on our campuses, throughout Illinois and around the world. This accountability includes making clear where we stand on issues that affect our academic enterprise, our students, our faculty and staff, and our campus culture.
Lock Your Bike Right is a project to increase bicycle safety awareness among students. The idea for this event was developed by AdBuzz students and Sarthak Prasad (at F&S). This event is specifically focused towards students.
Earth Month is a great opportunity to get involved in projects throughout the month of April.

Facilities & Services collaborates with the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District (MTD) to encourage University of Illinois faculty, staff, and students to use the various services provided by MTD. This event is held at least once every year re-starting in Spring 2020. This event will consist of a 30 minute presentation and then a 30 minute bus ride to a pre-determined destination. There will also be a survey and a comments section as a part of the event.
Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste is typically generated during a major capital renovation project or a building demolition. It can also be generated during a smaller alteration project, which may be completed by F&S crafts and trades or by an outside contractor.
Dining Services at University Housing is certified as a Green Restaurant by the Green Restaurant Association. Great job, Dining!
The goal of this project is to make plastic bag and film recycling more accessible to the campus community. 6 collections bins have been set up at 4 different buildings. After evaluation of the current setup, more drop-off locations may be added or changed.
